Teltonika TAT100/TAT240:
a self-contained tracker for assets with no power supply
Keep track of trailers, containers, generators and construction equipment without wiring into a vehicle's electrical system. Years of battery life with infrequent reports, a protected housing and magnetic mounting. How long it lasts depends on how often the tracker goes online.
Monitoring where there are no wires
The TAT100 and TAT240 are trackers for assets that cannot be wired. A trailer standing for months on a yard in Alat, a diesel generator on a building site or a container in the port have no permanent power — a tracker fed from a vehicle's electrical system is no use here. The TAT series runs on an internal battery — at the cost of getting separate scheduled reports instead of a continuous track.
The device wakes on a schedule, fixes its position, sends it to the server and goes back to sleep. No wires and no work by an electrician: the compact housing attaches with magnets, bolts or cable ties and, with infrequent reports, runs for years.
How long the battery lasts
The TAT series battery is not recharged: its life is set by the reporting mode, the number of messages and the quality of the connection.
-
Flexible operating modes
The less often it reports, the longer it runs: at one position a day the manufacturer quotes years, in frequent tracking mode months. A poor connection shortens that: the tracker spends longer looking for the network and for satellites. The schedule can be changed remotely: switch to frequent tracking while a trailer is being moved, then back to an economical mode when it is parked.
-
Protected housing and tamper detection
The housing is protected against dust and water and is built for rain and quarry mud; we check the protection rating against the data sheet for the model supplied. The version with a tamper-detect sensor registers an attempt to take it off the asset and sends an alarm the next time it goes online; with no network, the alarm goes out once the tracker finds one.
What problems does a self-contained tracker solve?
Unattended machinery and removable equipment are the most vulnerable part of a fleet:
Theft of trailers and equipment
A semi-trailer unhitched in a yard, a generator taken off a building site at night. The TAT is woken by its accelerometer when movement starts and sends an alarm with its position, if there is a connection.
Assets nobody can find
A company has 40 trailers and 15 site cabins, and nobody knows for certain where each of them is. One position a day, and every asset has a place where it was that morning. For stocktaking that is usually enough; for chasing a stolen trailer it is not, and there you need frequent reporting.
Monitoring hired-out equipment
Hiring out compressors, formwork or lifts? The tracker shows that the equipment has not left the agreed area and when it actually moved.
Container logistics
A container has cleared the port of Alat, gone onto a flat wagon and reached the warehouse — the points along the route are visible without asking the forwarder — at whatever interval you set, and wherever there was a connection.
Technical strengths of the TAT100/TAT240
Years of maintenance-free operation
High-capacity lithium batteries and aggressive power saving: the device draws microamps in sleep mode. Reporting once a day, the battery lasts for years; we work the exact figure out for your mode before you order.
Why the TAT100/TAT240
No power supply needed
Runs on a battery: no wiring, no charging, no electrician.
Protected housing
Built for dust, downpours and washing.
Covert fitting
A compact housing and magnets: the tracker can be hidden where nobody will look first.
One account for everything
Trailers and generators on the same map as the vehicles.
What the cost is made up of
The final figure depends on the type of vehicle, the set of sensors and the size of the fleet. We will prepare an exact quote for your case free of charge after a short audit — within one working day.
