Wialon GPS monitoring system in Azerbaijan
Wialon is the GPS monitoring system that GPS.az customers in Baku and the regions of Azerbaijan run their vehicles and machinery on. We fit the trackers and sensors, connect each vehicle and set up GPS tracking, fuel control and the reports your dispatcher opens every morning.

What Wialon is
Wialon is a telematics platform from Gurtam, and one of the most widely used in the industry. A tracker in the vehicle sends its position, speed and sensor readings to a server. The platform takes that data in, keeps the history, works out the reports and sends alerts when something happens.
The map with vehicles on it is only the first screen. The real work starts after that: a waybill is checked against the mileage that GPS tracking recorded, a fuel receipt against the level chart from the tank, and the time spent at a customer's site is taken from the geofence rather than from the driver's word.
GPS.az is an official Wialon partner in Azerbaijan; the documents behind that status are on the awards and certificates page. We do not develop the platform itself. Our part is the hardware, the connection, the set-up and the support afterwards.
Customers log in from a browser at go.gps.az; on a phone, use the same address or the Wialon app for iOS and Android.
What you get in Wialon
The eight things we set up most often. Which of them will work on your vehicles depends on the tracker and the sensors on board.
Live monitoring and history
Where the vehicle is now, and where it was at 14:20 yesterday. A track for any day within the retention period, with addresses, speeds and stops.
Fuel control
Refuelling, fuel drains and actual consumption, from a fuel level sensor or from CAN bus data. How it works and where the method reaches its limits is on the fuel control page.
Reports
Mileage, engine hours, idling, speeding, the working time of machinery. A report goes out by e-mail on a schedule or is exported to Excel or PDF.
Geofences and alerts
The depot, the quarry, a customer's warehouse, an area that is off limits. The system reports entry and exit, speeding and the tracker losing its power supply: in the app, by e-mail, by SMS or in Telegram.
Sensors and telemetry
The temperature in a refrigerated body, doors opening, axle load, a tipper body being raised, attachments at work. You see what is wired to the tracker or comes in over CAN.
Mobile access
The map, the track, short reports and push alerts on a phone, under the same login as on the computer. There is more on the mobile app page.
Integrations and the API
Data exchange with 1C and other accounting systems: mileage for waybills, litres for writing off fuel. We scope the work project by project.
Separate access rights
The dispatcher, the mechanic, the accountant and the director each have an account of their own. Each sees their own vehicles and their own reports.
Wialon Hosting and Wialon Local: what the difference is
The platform comes in two editions, a cloud one and a server one. The difference is where the server sits and who answers for it.
Wialon Hosting is the cloud edition. The platform runs in the developer's data centres, and it is the developer who updates it.
Wialon Local is the server edition. The platform is installed on the servers of the company that operates it, and that company is responsible for where the data sits, for the backups and for the updates.
GPS.az runs Wialon Local. Customer data is held on our servers in Azerbaijan, and the retention period and the backup arrangements are written into the contract. The state licence for handling personal data is on the awards and certificates page.
All you need at your end is a browser or a phone. If your organisation has particular requirements about where data is kept, tell us before we start and we will work it out around your case.
Applications and modules built on Wialon
Some of these are separate Gurtam applications, some are functions of the platform itself, and Fuel Management is our own package of settings. We connect them alongside basic monitoring when there is a job for them to do.
Wialon Hecterra
Records of field work: hectares worked, the crop rotation and fuel use per hectare. The area is worked out from the track inside the field and the working width of the implement. More about Hecterra
Wialon Fleetrun
Fleet servicing: services planned by actual mileage or engine hours, job requests, and records of what repairs and parts cost. More about Fleetrun
Wialon NimBus
Dispatching for public transport: routes, timetables, monitoring of the stops passed and planned-against-actual reports for each run. More about NimBus
Wialon Eco-Driving
Driving style scored on harsh braking, harsh acceleration, cornering and speeding. The driver ranking is a basis for a conversation, not a guarantee of fewer accidents. More about Eco-Driving
Wialon Fuel Management
Our own package: calibrated fuel level sensors plus the standard Wialon fuel functions, which cover refuelling, fuel drains, consumption norms and reconciliation against fuel cards. More about Fuel Management
Wialon Delivery
Deliveries: courier routes planned around delivery windows, a mobile app for the courier, and delivery confirmed by a photograph or the recipient's signature. More about Delivery
Wialon Lease Control
Leasing and rental: location, geofences, tampering events and blocking of the next start-up under the terms of the agreement. The engine is never cut while the vehicle is moving. More about Lease Control
What connecting to Wialon involves
A platform is no use without sound data. So we start with the vehicle, not with the screen.
- We choose trackers and sensors to suit the vehicles: Teltonika and Queclink trackers, Escort fuel level sensors, Howen and BSJ video recorders. The models are in the equipment catalogue.
- We fit the equipment and set up every vehicle in Wialon.
- We configure the sensors, reports, geofences, alerts and access rights around the way your fleet actually works.
- We train dispatchers on data from their own vehicles, not on a demo.
- We stay on afterwards: support, an engineer on site, and reconfiguration when the fleet changes.
The full list of work is in the services section. We will not quote a price in general terms: it depends on the number of vehicles and on the sensors and reports you need. We will work it out for your fleet.
What to know before you connect
Wialon shows what the tracker has measured. Three limits follow from that, and it is better to hear them from us than to find them out after the fitting.
Consumption over CAN is not available on every vehicle
On an older lorry with no CAN bus, consumption cannot be read off the bus, and a fuel level sensor in the tank is needed. The same sensor is what shows fuel drains: engine consumption data alone is not enough for that.
With no coverage, the data arrives later
In the mountains beyond Guba or on the ferry across the Caspian there is no network. The tracker stores its points in memory and sends them once the connection is back; meanwhile the map shows the last position it sent, and any alert arrives late.
A report is only as accurate as the data behind it
Tank volumes, consumption norms and the lists of vehicles and drivers come from you. If a tank was calibrated carelessly or a norm was plucked out of the air, the report will repeat the mistake. That is why the launch goes through a pilot on part of the fleet.
